How can I have a Personal Relationship with God - 2

When I was young I used to say there is no God, but in my heart I truly believed there was a God.

Question
The one thing that always used to bother me was, how could I know Him personally?
Is God really interested in me? And does He want to have a personal relationship with me? You may be asking the same question.

The answer is Yes, God does want to know you.
He loves you and is very much interested in you.

The Bible says: Psalm 139:17-18b NKJ
How precious also are your thoughts to me, o God!
How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand!

So God does not just think of you but also have plans for your future
Bible says: Jeremiah 29:11 AMP
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not of evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

The Bible says: 1 John 4:9-10 NKJ
In this the love of God made manifest (displayed) towards us, that God has sent His only begotten and unique Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
In this, is love, not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

Jesus chose to become our sins, He chose to die in our place, He chose to suffer for us in order to take us to God the Father.

The problem
The Bible says in the beginning, Adam and Eve lived in perfect harmony (agreement and peace) with God and as the Bible confirms, things were "very good."
However, Adam and Eve disobeyed God as a result of their disobedience, sin entered into the world and because of this we were separated from God.
Since God is pure and holy and in no way joined together with sin.
It makes no difference how much or how little you have sinned, you still fall short of God's perfection or standard.
The Bible says: Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”.

Good News
Although the wages of sin is death not just physical death, but also spiritual death which will cause separation from God and His kingdom for eternity (forever),
The Good News is that the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
The Good News is that God wants you to spend eternity in heaven with Him. Just over 2000 years ago God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to this world and to die on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin.

The Bible says: John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”.
In other words, even though you are separated from God because of your sin, God made a way for you to come back to Him and the way is Jesus. He is offering salvation and relationship to you as a free gift. All you have to do is to receive it.

How do you receive this gift?
Jesus said: Matthew 11:28

“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light”.

Just for few minutes

1) Admit your spiritual needs and say that, I am a sinner
2) Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross to take away your sins.
3) Repent, in other words, be willing to turn from your sins.
4) Receive, through prayer, Jesus Christ into your heart and life.

Pray
Dear Lord Jesus,
I have heard Your word and know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my personal Lord and Saviour.

In Jesus' Name.
Amen
