This Man Jesus – 1

He was a quick thinker, and full of sympathy. He had His finger on the pulse of life, and He knew what it was all about. Nothing was too hard for Him, nothing shook Him. He was never afraid.  He was real, brave, true, good, calm and loving. There has never been anyone like Jesus, nor will there ever be.

This Man Jesus – was strong, brave, and caring, He was powerful beyond our dreams. He spent much of his time curing all kinds of sickness and diseases Matthew 4:23-24, and even once brought to life a man who had been dead for four days. John 11:33-44

Where does your power come from? They asked Him, over two thousand years ago. He told them He came from God John 6:38. God who made the Heavens and the Earth, who keeps it going. God was His Father in Heaven. He told them His power was of God.

He always did what God wanted Him to do. He never put a foot wrong. He was just so good, that He really showed us up 1 Peter 2:21-22. He knows us too, better than we know ourselves. And He understands - all of us John 2:25

Nothing and no one could ever get the better of Him, trick questions could not catch Him out. And He did not get the answers out of books either. Matthew 22:15-33, 34-40

Who was He, this Man Jesus? Listen to His own words: He said I am the Bread of life John 6:48, I am the Light of the world John 8:12, He said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life John 14:6.

He was the Son of God Matthew 3:17 He is the Judge and the Saviour of men. This Man Jesus is God. He is with all those who put their trust in Him. He is with us always, and He is here at this very present time.

He speaks and acts only as God can. His claims are the claims of God. He was God in human form. It does not make sense in any other way. John 14:8-9, John 10:30, John 1:1

Why did He die, this great and good Man? Why did He experience so much suffering and pain? Why did He let it happen? He did not. He made it happen. He said:  “No man takes My life from Me. I lay it down of Myself ”. John 10:14-18 Why?

It was for you and me, because we were rotten inside.  There was nothing clean about us. Romans 3:23, Jeremiah 17:9, Isaiah 64:6

Then why did He bother?

Because He loved us. He wanted to see us happy and satisfied.  His sufferings on the cross were the only way to get rid of our guilt from sins of the past. The guilt which had been destroying our peace of mind from generation to generation. This Man Jesus paid the price we could not afford. John 3:16, Romans 5:8, John 10:10, 1Peter 2:24

But the story of this Man did not end in defeat. His power was stronger than the power of death, death could not hold him, and the grave could not hold him. By defeating all he came back to life. We know because Jesus lives today and he lives in our lives: A song goes like this, Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Matthew 28:1-7; Revelation 1:18

If you have truly read this, you cannot walk on without a second thought concerning this Man Jesus. You really have no choice but to invite Him into your life. Then no one is able to separate you from Him.

This Man Jesus says to all: “Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.

This Man Jesus welcomes the worst sinners in the world.

This Man Jesus welcomes the broken-hearted.

This Man Jesus welcomes those who have poor health.

This Man Jesus welcomes all those who have tried and have been defeated by life and cannot go any further.

This Man Jesus is saying, “Come to Me and I will give you rest”.

If you come to Him, believing in Him, He won’t turn you away. He will come into your heart, into your life, into your family. He will give you the power to be like Him.

Matthew 11:28-30

He is waiting now, to see what you are going to say.  Can you, will you, quietly, humbly, trustingly, ask Him into your heart, this Man Jesus, to come into your heart to stay? Pray like this:

Dear Lord Jesus,

I have heard Your Word and know that I am a sinner, and need your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins. I now invite you to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow you as my personal Lord and Saviour.

In Your name I ask this.

Amen.
